Quick & Easy Lunch! Annie Chun's Review & Giveaway!

Tuesday, March 30, 2010 450
If you are anything like me I hate packing a lunch for my husband to take to work. This results in me not doing it very often and my hubby looking for leftovers or quick, convenient food to take to work. Most convenience foods are loaded with preservatives and unhealthy ingredients. He was glad we had the chance to try out the Annie Chun's Soup and Noodle bowls.

Enjoy gourmet Asian noodles in a variety of delicious soup broths that taste freshly made, anytime and anywhere! These new noodles are more flavorful and have a more satisfying texture than everyday dry noodles. And they don't need cooking, just a quick warm up in the microwave and they're ready to go.

They are 100% natural and have no MSG or preservatives. For a quick lunch at work or dinner at home, store some soups in your desk or cupboard, then just heat and serve. You'll be eating a restaurant style meal in minutes that's both healthy and great tasting.

Diaper Junction Rocks! bumGenius Organic One Size All in One Cloth Diaper Review & Giveaway!

Monday, March 29, 2010 780

I am a big fan of Diaper Junction. They offer a huge variety of cloth diapers and have some great programs and incentives for their customers. I have told you about them and some of the diapers they carry in my posts here and here. They have some great things you need to check out like their 30 day test drive program which lets you try the diapers absolutely risk free. They also have a great customer rewards program. They run some really great sales too which you can score free diapers with your order!

I tried their bumGenius one size pocket diaper which I love. It is one of my favorites that I use on Aiden. I was excited to give their bumGenius Organic One Size Diaper a try on Danika. I received the bumGenius Organic in Zinnia to review. Danika only has one other pink diaper so this was very nice to get her some girly cloth.

The bumGenius Organic One Size Diapers fit babies from 7-35 pounds. They put 100% organic cotton next to your baby's skin. The organic cotton is super soft and luxurious. Danika loved it and it worked really well. We had no leaks and it fit great. It was easy to adjust to fit her properly. Like it's one size counterparts it fits well on both Danika as well as Aiden (my 3 month old).

One thing I really like about this diaper is that it is super easy for anyone to use. Dads, grandparents and babysitters will have no problem figuring it out. It operates the same as a disposable. No inserts or stuffing, just put it on baby and go! The inner organic layer functions like a fitted diaper but without the need for a cover because it is all in one. The inner is made up of 6 layers of organic cotton which is sewn together in a way to make it dry faster. It took a little longer than one dryer cycle to dry but that speaks to it's absorption.

It adjusts from small to medium and large easily with snaps on the rise. It isn't too bulky and the leg elastic is gentle and doesn't leave red marks but is snug enough to keep messes in.

You can buy the bumGenius Organic One Size Diaper at Diaper Junction for $24.95. It comes in a variety of awesome colors and is now available in snap closures. They have free shipping on orders over $75.

Win! Diaper Junction sent me one bumGenius Organic One Size Diaper in Zinnia (with velcro closure) to give to one lucky reader!

Does your baby have sensitive skin?

Many of you may remember my post awhile back about our little man Aiden's acid reflux and sensitive skin. I had originally thought he was having an allergic reaction to dairy because of his skin rash and tummy troubles but after cutting out dairy and seeing no improvement we made a visit to his Pediatrician and he was diagnosed with acid reflux and very sensitive skin. My Pediatrician put him on Zantac and recommended using some various lotions on his skin. We tried everything from Aveeno to organic, natural lotions and had no luck with his skin clearing up. That is when I was reminded by Jennifer over at J. Leigh Designz that we had reviewed the Skin MD lotion and it worked great. I had never even though about trying it on my baby.

Here is a picture of Aiden's skin before we tried the Skin MD on him. This was taken 1/26/10.

Here is a picture of him after starting to use the Skin MD on him at every diaper change. This was taken 2/23/10! There is a very significant improvement and there are just a few red patches of dry skin still.

Here is Aiden on 3/17/10 with completely clear skin! The Skin MD worked wonders and cleared up and moisturized his skin very quickly. He also has cradle cap pretty badly and I've found that using a combination of the Skin MD and Earth Mama Angel Baby Oil works really well on it.

Now this is a picture of Aiden on 3/21/10 after a few days of running out of Skin MD lotion. Bad Mama, I know :( You can see his face is notably red and dry and he also had some red patches on his body.

Skin MD is a miracle lotion and I recommend it to all my mom friends. Even if your baby doesn't have skin problems it is great to use on them. It is gentle and very effective. It works differently than a traditional lotion in that it is a shielding lotion to lock in your own natural ability to moisturize your skin.

"A conventional lotion is not formulated to protect the skin like a shielding lotion does. Conventional lotions only add surface moisture to temporarily alleviate the dryness or itching. Shielding lotions are an effective dry skin treatment because they bond with the skin and protect it for long periods of time. With this protection in place your skin keeps its own moisture in and has a chance to use this natural moisture in the deep layers of the skin to heal itself," states Dr. Lisa Benest, a board certified dermatologist of Burbank, CA.

And here is our little guy back on his Skin MD regimen and back to his nice baby soft skin :) This was taken today, 3/29/10. I had to laugh because after we started using the Skin MD lotion a lady at our church came up to us and commented on how nice his skin was and how it was baby soft. I said you would never guess it had been broken out in a rash head to toe just a month prior. I was skeptical about the "shielding lotion" actually working before trying it myself and now I am a big believer in it's effectiveness. If you have a baby with sensitive skin I definitely recommend Skin MD. It is a little pricier than the lotion you buy off the shelf in the baby aisle but it goes a long way and works really well so it is worth it.

You can learn more about Skin MD and how it works on their web site. I love that it helps to keep toxins out of Aiden's sensitive system and keep moisture in. You can buy Skin MD on their site as well as stores you can locate here. Skin MD sells for $18 for a 4oz bottle which is a 1-2 month supply with daily use. I would say using it on Aiden we go through about a bottle a month. This is with using it on his whole body more than once a day. When we started using it on him I used it at every diaper change and now I use it in the morning and at bedtime. You can also get Skin MD with SPF 15 for $25 each. You can get 20% off your purchase by using the code: MMMH at checkout!

Win! Skin MD is giving one lucky reader a bottle of Skin MD Natural AND a bottle of Skin MD with SPF 15 RV $43!!

Safety 1st Health Care Kit Review!

Safety 1st has the perfect little health care kit with all the basics you need for baby. I recently saw these at Target and they are affordably priced and come in cute little cases. I received one for review and have been very pleased with it.

The Healthcare Basics Kit couldn't have come at a better time. Aiden was sick and all stuffed up and I desperately needed a nose sucker. The nasal aspirator worked great at getting the boogs out of Aiden's nose. It was the perfect size for his itty bitty nose. The nail clippers are great with a larger piece on the end of them so they are easy for adult hands to use. It also comes with a thermometer that can be used orally, rectally or under the arm. It also includes a medicine spoon with easy to read markings. It has an easy to use medicine dropper with a plug to cover the tip too which is great to give medicine without having to redip the same dropper in the medicine. The emergency contact card is great for keeping all of your important numbers on and it all comes in a cute see through case for travel.

You can pick one up at Target! These make great baby shower gifts too.

New Dove Milk Chocolate With Peanut Butter is Heavenly!

I never used to be a chocolate lover. I really could take it or leave it. That all changed when I got pregnant. Now I LOVE chocolate and crave it. I was excited to learn about Dove's new Milk Chocolate with Peanut Butter. They sent us some samples for review and they were soooooo heavenly. I debated hiding them all from my hubby and keeping them all to myself, but I felt bad and shared :) My hubby absolutely loved them too.

We got both the Promises and the Singles to try. I personally thought the Promises tasted better than the Singles, but my hubby insisted they were equally as good. I love the little messages on each Promises wrapper too. It is a great pick me up during the day. These didn't last long in my house! We loved the smooth silky chocolate and delicious peanut butter. It all melted in your mouth and was heavenly! I took a couple in the bathroom and took a long, hot bath while indulging in my chocolate. I highly recommend every mama do this!

You can check out the Dove web site for more info on their new products. They also have a Facebook and Twitter page!
