With Summer just around the corner my four months postpartum figure comes to mind when thinking of bathing suit shopping. The thought of stepping into a dressing room and analyzing all of the areas where my lovely baby fat still clung on wasn't so appealing to me. Lucky for me I found
GiGi! Who and what is GiGi? Read on!
From GiGi:
Every girl’s been there. The cold dressing room, the terrible lighting, the myriad of suits in detestable prints, our white undies sticking out from under the leg elastic, our sun-starved appendages. It’s a sure recipe for self-loathing.
How hard can it be to come up with something flattering and stylish, I wondered. A bathing suit version of the little black dress? I decided I’d have to create it myself. And thus, GiGi was born.
Lucky for you, attention to detail is my forte. I’ve had a fabulous time creating a suit that truly complements almost every figure. My various sized female friends agree: GiGi is the most flattering bathing suit they’ve ever worn. If you don’t think so, just send it back. Enjoy your new GiGi suit. GiGi loves you!

I received the
GiGi Suit in black to review. I was skeptical of this bathing suit that was supposed to end my swimsuit shopping nightmares. I slipped it on and found that there are so many things that I love about it and it really is flattering. I am a big fan of the ruching around the tummy area which hides that unwanted baby belly that I still have after having Aiden. I've always liked the halter top style in suits. The halter-top bodice is flattering on virtually all body-types. And GiGi provides complete coverage to just below the shoulder blades, minimizing "BS": Backfat Spillage.
Soft elastic in the halter-top strap prevents neck irritation; clear, narrow elastic at the side seams gently gathers the fabric; and firm elastic in the leg and under the bust adds support.

GiGi fabric is imported from Spain and is 87 percent nylon and 13 percent spandex—allowing a softer and more luscious feel. The lining is cut four inches smaller than the rest of the suit to provide optimal control and an all-around smooth look. Removable bra cups tuck into the lining, allowing women to choose their style preference. Ruching at the side seams also allows for the leg opening to slide up or down, creating the best look.

Both the pink and white colored suits are triple layered so they are not see through! The designer discovered this in testing and made sure you wouldn't have this problem! I did a little interview with the designer that you can read below.
Q.) What inspired you to design the GiGi Swimsuit?
A.) GiGi came straight from my own experiences around swimsuit shopping. I was heading out for vacation and needed a new suit. After trying on 90 (seriously ... 90!) different styles, I settled on the best of the bunch, still wondering why I couldn't find just one felt right. The idea started percolating from there.
Q.) Did you discover any interesting things that needed to be changed in the design during testing?
A.) I'm not a designer or manufacturer by background, so there were many things I had to learn along the way. Perhaps the funniest was when my manufacturer suggested I might want to consider different lining in the white and pink suits. In his experience, those light colored fabrics can become see-through when wet. I went home, put on a pink suit prototype, and jumped in the shower. When I came out, my husband said...'um, I think he may be right.' Suffice it to say, our white and pink suits are now triple-lined.

You can
buy the GiGi suit on their site for $98. It will be the only suit you need this Summer and the answer to the dreaded swimsuit shopping nightmare! I found the sizing ran a tad on the small side so if in doubt order up a size.
Win! GiGi is giving away one suit in your choice of color and size!!
