Summer Sizzle! Summer Infant Review & Giveaway!

Danika has been using Aiden's Bumbo seat as a booster at the table because we didn't have a nice booster seat for her to use. Now obviously she is too old for the Bumbo but since she is little for her age she still fit. Now that Aiden is eating solids he needs his Bumbo and we really needed a better option for Danika.

We were sent the Summer Infant SecureComfort Foam Booster for review. It works great for kids of different heights and ages because the height is adjustable. Danika uses the seat on the lower setting.

It can be made taller for shorter or younger kids or for sitting at a taller table. I love this feature as it makes it great for using over a long period of time. The booster is foam so it is comfortable for your child and really easy to wipe down and clean. It has a 3 point harness so your kids can't climb out of it too. It also comes with a travel bag so it is perfect for on the go use too. So you can quit using those germ infested restaurant booster seats! Yes, I am a germophobe :)

One of the reasons I love Summer Infant is because they have so many really cool products. I was sent their RayShade to review. This is meant to take the place of the blanket I always end up throwing over the stroller canopy to keep the sun out of my kid's eyes. You know the deal. The shade isn't long enough and the sun gets in your kid's eyes and you end up tossing a blanket over the front of the stroller which inevitably gets blown off anyway.

The RayShade attaches to any canopied stroller really easily and extends the shade so your baby is covered.

And after the RayShade! The sun isn't in his eyes anymore!

It even has a hidden pocket on each side which can hold sippy cups or whatever you like! The material is stretchy and you can adjust it forward or back as you need. It folds up into itself for easy storage too. It is a UV protected stroller sun shade with a protection factor of UPF50+. It shields baby from over 99% of the sun's UVA and UVB rays.

Danika loves her bath time and loves "making tea" so when I saw this Tub Time Tea Party Set I knew she would love it. The set includes a teapot, sugar bowl, sugar cubes, and two tea cups. Everything you need to have a tea party and you don't need to worry about getting water all over because it is in the tub! It is also great for playing with in the kiddie pool. Danika went crazy for it and loves it. It is perfect for every little girl and is good for ages 6 months and up!

Now do you see why I love Summer Infant? Their products are awesome! They have such a great selection of products that you really need to check out. They make great gifts and are definitely on my "must have" list!

Pros: Love the booster's dual height and portability with travel bag, I like that the RayShade is able to be used on any canopied stroller and works well and is portable, I love the tea set-it's adorable!

Cons: Believe it or not I can't think of any! The only thing I would note is that the booster says it can be used for 6 months and up. Aiden just turned 6 months and isn't stable enough to sit in it yet. He still needs the higher backed Bumbo seat. Other than that I really was impressed with it all!

Do you collect Box Tops for Education?

Do you collect Box Tops for Education? You know what I'm talking about, the little box tops on various products that you can collect for your child's school. If you don't save them or don't know what they are then you need to get on board the train! I had no idea the potential of them until I attended the Box Tops For Education University at General Mills World Headquarters this month. I learned so much that I never knew and it has me on the hunt for Box Tops and on a mission to educate all of the mamas out there.

This is the outside of General Mills. That is one huge shopping cart! I was excited to go learn what all the fuss was about. Boy I had no idea!

All of the products you see in my pictures sport Box Tops on their packages! Don't throw them away! Clip them and send them to school with your kids. If you don't have kids then save them and donate them to your local school. You'll be amazed at what they can get for them.

If you are looking for other ways to earn money for your kids school then visit the Box Tops Marketplace. I had no idea that it even existed. You can shop at many of your favorite stores, Target, Cabela's and Barnes and Noble just to name a few. Once you join the Marketplace you can shop and earn box tops money for your choice school. Some other benefits you get are:

-See complete earning details for your school
-Earn cash for your school when you shop online
-Print valuable coupons for Box Tops products
-Earn more cash for your school with Box Tops email newsletters

Did you know your child's school can earn up to $80,000 a year from Bot Tops??!! I had no idea! Every box top counts. This is a seriously under-used program. I think it is due to a lack of knowledge about it. If you just take advantage of the program and every Mom and Dad in the school saved even a few Box Tops it would earn a lot of money for the school.

Your child's school can buy all sorts of things with the money they earn from Box Tops. They can get everything from computers to playground equipment. One coordinator at the event even told a story of using the money to buy lunches for the kids that couldn't afford them.

Every school has a coordinator for Box Tops so find out who your coordinator is and see how you can help. If you don't want to go that far just clip the box tops and send them to school! There were so many creative ways that the coordinators found to collect Box Tops. From collecting them in boxes at the grocery store to asking their local businesses to save them. One coordinator even had her recycling guy clipping them off for her!

There are so many products that have Box Tops on them too! It is not just food either. Cottonelle, Avery office supplies, Kleenex, Ziploc and many other brands sport them too.

They didn't send us home empty handed! All of these great products have Box Tops on them so start collecting! You can learn all about the Box Tops program here and here.

So I'm very curious to know...Do you save Box Tops? Did you know there were more ways to earn them than just clipping them (such as at the Marketplace)? Will you save them now? If not, why?

Summer Sizzle! HearthSong Cottage Playhouse Review & Giveaway!

The folks at HearthSong "believe childhood is a vital chapter in life-a special time when children can be occupied with the joy of being children. And, equally importantly, a time when children need to experience as much creative, imaginative play as possible because kids experience so many of life's first lessons through play."

I couldn't agree more! With kids in front of the T.V. for way too many hours a day (I'm guilty of this too!), they need to get off the couch and use their imagination! I remember when I was little I spent hundreds of thousands of hours playing pretend. It was so much fun! I want that for my kids too.

HearthSong has this adorable Cottage Playhouse that is perfect for hours and hours of imaginative play. There are so many things they can do with it. Of course it can be their pretend house but it can also be a quiet place to read and have alone time, go over their toddler bed for a fun pretend hut, and can be used both indoors and out.

From the moment we set it up Danika was in love. It was easy to set up with color codes poles. They operate just like tent poles would and have connectors to form the house shape. Then you simply plop the cottage tent like material over the poles. I like that the poles are made of fiberglass so they are super light.

I just love the dog door! How cute is that? Our dog Max even knew what it was for and took advantage of it right away. Danika got a kick out of him going in and out of the house.

There three roll-up windows, a roll-back door, mesh eaves and vents, a skylight, and a round ground-level port should you wish to add your favorite tunnel (or you can use it as the dog door). The roll up "shades" velcro up or you can leave them down. The front door zips open and the dog door has a roll up shade too.

And once Summer is over you can bring it inside to beat the boredom that icky, cold weather inevitably brings.

Buy It! You can get your little kiddos the Cottage Playhouse on the Hearthsong site for $79.98.

Pros: Easy to assemble, indoor or outdoor use so you get the most bang for your buck, hours of imaginative play.

Cons: I can see the price being a little more than people want to pay but when you take into account it's year round use and portability (you can bring it anywhere-it folds up small) I think it is worth the price.

Toddler Tuesday! This can't be normal...

So Danika loves to sleep with a million toys in her bed. Now I'm not talking about soft, snuggly stuffed animals. I mean hard toys that I have no clue why she insists on sleeping with. It can't be comfortable. And she has this radar like ability to detect when one of her toys is missing. I don't know how she does it. She has so many and I'll put her to bed and ten minutes later she'll be screaming because a toy is missing. It blows my mind!
These pictures could be in an "I spy" book haha. And this is just what is on top of her covers! You should see how much more she packs under the blankets. There is barely enough room for her. So what's the scoop? Do your toddlers do this too? She will not go to bed without everything!

Sandra Magsamen's New American Summer Line now available at Wal Mart! Review & Giveaway

I cannot believe it is almost July! That is crazy to me. The Summer is flying by so quickly. One of my favorite children's authors, Sandra Magsamen has expanded her products from baby clothes to home decor. She is truly such a talented artist. We were sent the adorable Angel hanging plaque which reads "Someone to watch over you". It is so adorable and I love it. I love the American theme which is perfect for July!

Flat Iron Experts Review

With a name like Flat Iron Experts you would expect that they only carry flat irons, but they are so much more than that. They carry blowdryers and curling irons and more!

My curling iron has been dying a slow, painful death and has been needing to be replaced. I have fine hair and need a good curling iron that can make even my hair hold a curl. I was sent the 1 1/2'' Babyliss Pro Ceramic Curling Iron for review. I was immediately impressed with the quality of it.

The barrel of the curling iron is ceramic which has some great benefits:

-CERAMIC closes the hair cuticle resulting in smooth, glossy hair.
-CERAMIC plus heat emits NEGATIVE IONS which eliminate static electricity and neutralize odors and bacteria.
-CERAMIC barrels retain heat more efficiently, distribute it more evenly and eliminate damaging hot spots.
-CERAMIC radiates faster drying FAR-INFRARED HEAT, which dries hair from the inside out, preserving more moisture within the hair shaft and causing less damage to the hair cuticle.

My little sister came over and needed her hair curled for her graduation ceremony. She also has very fine hair and I was eager to give the curling iron a try on her hair. It did a great job curling her hair and it held the curl very well. She loved it and I was so pleased with the curling iron. I really liked how well it held the hair too. It gets a good grip on it so you don't have pieces falling out of it.

I love the on/off buttons rather than a switch and it also has a dial to select the perfect heat setting for your hair type. I've never had such a high tech curling iron before! Once you turn it on it is hot in less than 30 seconds! It heats up to 390 degrees. I love that it gives off even, constant heat. The grip on the handle is easy to hold too which makes for a comfortable time curling your hair.

I love that it has a swivel cord so your cord doesn't get twisted up as you are using it. The cord is extra long too which is great for reaching all the way around your head to get every piece of hair. This curling iron is also dual voltage for use around the world! It comes with a 2 year warranty and is available in six barrel sizes. I'd love to get their 1'' as well!
