LiftMaster Elite Series® DC Battery Backup Belt Drive Garage Door Opener Review!

We bought our house in July of 2011. It was built in 2006 and really is our dream house. I love it here. We are in the country, on 10 acres and the kids can run around and play! One thing that was bothering us though was our garage door opener. Despite being a newer home, it really was a base model and didn’t perform well. It was loud and slow to respond and we had to be practically right in front of the door for it to open when you pressed the button on the remote.

We had a local garage door company come and install the LiftMaster Elite Series® DC Battery Backup Belt Drive garage door opener on our main, double door. This is the creme de la creme of garage door openers. I know, I know, it’s a garage door opener so who cares right? Not! That is what I would have thought too until I tried out the LiftMaster. Stay with me here because this thing is amazing The guy installing it called our old opener a dinosaur in comparison and being that our house was just built in 2006, that’s saying a lot.

My absolute favorite feature of this opener and one that I never would have thought would make such a difference is the motion light. When I’m hauling groceries and kids inside and making multiple trips I HATED when the light on my old opener would shut off and leave me in the pitch black garage. The LiftMaster light turns on when you walk in the garage!!! Love that!

It’s such a neat feature and it’s totally built in to the LiftMaster 8550 garage door opener!

This garage door opener is the best thing since sliced bread! Be on the cutting edge of technology and get the best in safety and convenience all at your fingertips. If you think that your garage door opener doesn’t matter then you haven’t tried the LiftMaster. Having the motion light, battery backup in case of power failure, Internet gateway and more is such a huge thing for me. It is something you use everyday, multiple times a day so you may as well have one that does the job the best!
